Birthday Leave Policy

Coverage

This policy applies to all permanent team members across The Warehouse Group (TWG). Team members must be in a permanent full-time or part-time role at the time their birthday falls to qualify for the birthday day off.

Scope

TWG awards all permanent team members paid time off for their birthday.  The purpose of this Policy is to provide team members with eligibility criteria and guidance for the Birthday Leave.

Objective

All permanent full-time and part-time team members are eligible to receive a one-day leave credit for Birthday Leave on or around their birth month in recognition of their birthday, from the commencement of their employment.

Compliance

·         Birthday Leave can be applied for up to 90 days in advance of the team member’s birthday.

·         Birthday Leave can be taken up to 5 days in advance of the team member’s birthday.

·         Team members must submit their Birthday Leave request through MyPay and the day must be taken at a mutually agreed upon date.

·         It is encouraged that Birthday Leave be taken around the birth month, however Birthday Leave must be taken within 12 months of the actual birthday date.

·         Birthday Leave cannot be banked or carried over past this 12-month window and will not be paid out at any time during or after service with TWG.
