Navigating the Torpedo7 Group and Stores Guidebook - Monthly Meetings and Training

Applies to: All Torpedo7 Team Members

Overview

Attendance is required at monthly store meetings and specified tech sessions. You will be paid for required and approved time outside of a regular shift on the shop floor.
It is your responsibility to treat these after-hours engagements as per any rostered shift and be there on time. If you cannot attend due to extenuating circumstances you need to speak with your Store Manager in advance and explain your situation.

“I can’t be bothered” is not an acceptable reason for not attending.

Our after hours training sessions are run by both suppliers and Torpedo7. This training is critical to keep you up to speed on product knowledge. It is expected that you will be available to attend training courses as required. Payment of wages will be paid for any course you are required to attend.

To be clear around paid training sessions:

1. The Store Manager will advise who is required to attend. This decision is made taking into consideration who is actually selling the product that is in the training session Team members who are not required to attend may still attend but will not be paid for their time.
2. The Store Manager will advise the length of the session; this is how long you will be paid for. Trainers are also aware of this time and their presentations are not to go over time. It is the responsibility of the attendees to do their part to ensure the sessions are sticking to time e.g. does not go off topic.
3. There may be stand down time between the time the shop closes and the training / meeting starts wherein cash-ups are being done, final customers are in shop etc. You will not be paid for this time.
4. Training and meeting time is paid for; eating, drinking and socializing time is not.
