Welcome to Torpedo7
We want to share with you a bit about our story, the good bits about working here, our culture and the rules we work by; this guidebook also outlines what you can expect from us as your employer. Hopefully you can find most of what you need to know in here. If not, just ask your Manager.
As an employee of the Torpedo7 Group we ask for your commitment, dedication and loyalty to help us achieve our goals and objectives – along with a sense of fun and passion of course!
Part one of this guidebook includes everything you need to know about working at the Torpedo7 Group, Part 2 (page 47) is all about Torpedo7 stores. From time to time we may need to review and update this guidebook, if there are any substantial changes we will let you know.

A Beginner's Guide to Torpedo7
It can be a little overwhelming when you’re getting started – new place, new people, new systems and processes. Your Manager and team will be there to help you navigate through those early days with a plan for your onboarding. When in doubt ask for help, your Manager and team are there to support you through those early days.

Before we get on with the other stuff, we’ll first tell you about how it all started…
A Bit About Us
Today’s Torpedo7 Group is an amalgamation of several strong businesses. In 2013, New Zealand’s largest general merchandise retailer, The Warehouse Group, purchased Torpedo7. The Warehouse saw Torpedo7 for what it is - a dynamic online powerhouse with room to grow. Not long after this Torpedo7 purchased No1 Fitness and Shotgun Supplements. With the 2014 acquisition of the hugely-popular outdoor retailer R&R Sport, Torpedo7 was ready to take it to the next level, merging one of the strongest outdoor adventure brick and mortar retailers in NZ with our already successful online business.

Torpedo7 incorporates the 30+ years R&R Sport had under its belt, with the dynamic 10 years of inventive online retail of Torpedo7, plus the leveraging power of TW Group to create New Zealand’s premier multi-channel outdoor adventure retailer, with an Australian web presence.
Torpedo7’s main categories are bike, snow, outdoor/camp and water with a strong on-line moto presence. This effectively makes Torpedo7 into a one-stop shop for all the outdoor sporting gear Kiwi and Aussie customers could ask for.

The massively popular 1-day.co.nz website is also part of the Torpedo7 Group. This masterpiece was launched in 2007 and is now the leading daily deals website in New Zealand.
No1 Fitness
No1 Fitness is New Zealand’s leading fitness equipment multi-channel retailer. Helping Kiwis get fitter by understanding their needs and providing them with fit for purpose products, No1 Fitness offers the best value on a wide range of products to suit all fitness needs and budgets.
Originally established in 2005, as MaxFitness and renamed No1 Fitness in 2009, No1 Fitness has grown rapidly with plans to introduce new products, further develop the website and find new showroom locations.
No1 Fitness takes pride in their great customer service, by ensuring their team is passionate about fitness and can provide expert advice to customers.
Shotgun Supplements
Shotgun is New Zealand’s leading online sports supplements retailer, striving to help Kiwis get bigger, stronger, and leaner. In doing so, Shotgun offers a wide range of supplements and accessories to aid the performance of customers in their fitness journey.
Great service is very important and this is reflected in the free nationwide “same day dispatch” guarantee for all orders. To support the customer, expert advice is offered from the fantastic customer support team.
The Shotgun brand is often recognised thanks to the disruptive TV commercials. This form of marketing has been extremely successful and with the advertising campaign of ‘Shotgun - we’re number 1!’.

We have an exciting vision and plan for the three parts of our business, and you will get to play your part in seeing these multi-channel offerings evolve over time.
To help us achieve our goals we are developing a Way of Working - which you will become familiar with as your time with us continues, that will enable us to be Customer Led, Stores Focused and People Centred with the customer at the heart of everything we do. This booklet contains a wealth of information that will help you settle into your new role within the Group so please take the time to read through it. It should also help to give you a real sense of the Torpedo7 Group culture and enable you to settle in quickly as a part of the team, everyone here is genuinely helpful so I am sure if you have any questions just ask and someone will help.
